Howdy

I'm trading in my 2001 Prerunner (2 door/ 4 cyllinder) with 90K on it but I've never owned a Nissan vehicle before. Ive been a Toyota guy mostly and never had any major issues with them. I also owned a 2000 4Runner with 150K with almost zero issues that I traded it in for a Acura MDX last year.

The Frontier CrewCab has 73K on it right now and the 60K service has been done by the dealership. Is there any recall info/problems I should know before pulling the trigger?

Also should I expect the same reliability as I had with the prev Toyota's I owned in the past?

I'm test-driving the vehicle this Friday and depending on the responses, I may pull the trigger.

Thanks in advance.

got one

I have that year/model truck. There was a recall on the fuel sender unit and one on the rear axle seals, if I remember correctly. I think there was a recall on the power window modules, drivers side possibly. Mine did not call for the window recall. I bought mine with 23k on it. The only problems I've had with it were a leaky front diff when I bought it. Warranty covered that. Had a leak in an a/c hose, and a seap leak off the power steering resevoir. Hoses were a given on any car. Oh, yeah a crappy tech at the dealer dropped it off the lift, but that was his fault. Mine has 120+k on it and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

i have an 02' cc 2x4 V6. it has 78k on it now and the only issuse i had are the power windows. most of the time it will be the reuglator. its a $90 part at the dealership. they will try and tell you its the motor ($300) but most of the time its not the case. i have even seen a faulty switch, that was $125. just dont let them hose you.

you're right jojo

You're right jojo. It is the regulator. That was a recall. These trucks are the bomb.

you wont regret it, ive got a 00 crew cab and ive only had one problem except for stuff ive done lol. something electrical went wrong with my truck, cost me 140 bucks to put it in the shop and get it fixed. and now its back to running like a champ. cheap fix for not ever having any other problem thru the whole 100k+ miles it has on it.
