The 5 speed manual in my 98 4cylinder 4x4 2.4 just grenaded. Input bearing was on it's way out, then popped out of 5th gear on the highway saturday night 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grind had 4th is the only gear i have . . . . the ka24de has enough torque to get moving from a dead stop in 4th fyi.

I am currently following the hanes manual and dropping the trans in my driveway. Truck has a 3" suspension lift and 3" body lift, wondering if anyone has gotten the trans out without removing the torsion bars, and the the torsion bar crosssmember. Any tricks or tips would be good. Getting a used trans and putting it in this weekend.

My '98 is 2WD. Let's just say that some of the transmission mount bolts were REAL tight. And they may be different lengths, so mark their positions. Let us know on progress.
