Looking good Don,

Post some day pics of you truck man!
I like the fake faceplate mod. Do you just lay it right over the JVC unit or did you get it to attach some how? its pretty sneaky!
Thanks guys. More pics and stuff is coming I just wanted to get it started. Now that I finally lifted my truck I feel like I could actually start a "build" thread.
I will post those pics you guys asked for.

Thanks LuxoFronti05. The faceplate just sits the existing JVC trim. That first picture is the fake faceplate over the JVC. I did a short write-up here: http://www.clubfrontier.org/forums/f24/oem-fake-faceplate-best-both-worlds-77302/

My single disc crapped out on me so the mod was essentially "free".
Suspension & Tires

Setup:
285/75/16 Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs
Pro-4x Wheels
Radflo 2.0 Coilovers (3" Front)
2" PRG AAL (2" Rear) & 5125 bils in the rear.

Special thanks to x_mods for helping me install the lift. Front and rear took us about 7 hours.

So far I have not done any mods (pinchweld, heat gun, etc) to make the tires fit. I have had no rubbing issues so far. Still waiting to see if I get rubbing with the suspension loaded while turning.

So I spent hours trying to figure out what wheels and tires would fit. As we all know not much selection for rims and to be honest there were only a handfull of rims that I liked more that the Pro-4x's. I ended up buying a pair of Pro-4x wheels off a CF member and had them shipped to Hawaii. I didn't want to bother with spacers/adapters and didn't want to worry about "recon" permits with the wheels sticking to far out etc.

I spent many more hours learning about lifts and decided to save for components that would improve the ride while also providing a lift. This setup cost more but I am happy with the results. Truck had 50K on it so I figured it was time to replace some of the stock stuff anyway. I figured that 3" was about the threshold for the front before having to spend big bucks (UCA's and Spindles) and I wanted to see if I would be happy with a 3" lift. So far so good. I like the look of the 3" lift. It feels like a truck now. As others have commented, this is how it should have been from the factory.

Here are some pics. I will post better pics later when I get my better camera.

How would my truck look with Duratracs?

Interior - Underhood Courtesy lighting

Thanks go out to x_mods again. After I saw his underhood courtesy lighting I had to install some for myself. I decided to go with a 24" LED strip from Vleds. I told myself, "If you are going to add some light then add some light" They are mounted to a manual on/off switch under the hood until I decide to do something else.

I don't know what the camera settings are but I would say that there is more than enough light for a roadside emergency (less a complete battery failure) which is why I also have a flashlight :)

fyi: The mounting location does not provide any illumination to the grill area with the hood closed. This is one of the most useful mods I have done and one of my favorite so far.

Awesomeness! I gotta check out that 24" strip soon!

p.s. Are you looking into buying a new camera? ...cough, canon, cough cough... :)
Are all of your aftermarket lights run to turn on when the regular lights (cabin) come on, or did you run them through toggles?
The underhood 24" strip is on a toggle switch mounted under the hood area. The 6" strips under each door are connected to the "cargo" circuit (no relay) and can be turned on with the stock cargo switch or come on automatically when the doors open, etc.
O no! That's too much of a teaser :D (-TNX peoples)

Now just wait for all the messages
Looking good bro like the grill mod post up pics when u r done
^^thanks man. I've been following your truck for a while too. Nice job. I will post pics soon. I've been spending my free time on those Zombie burgers so once they are done I can finish painting.
Sweet truck!! Know where I can find a good write up about the door jam courtesy lights?
Thanks Kev,
I don't have a writeup nor have I seen one. Others may have done this mod too but the only other person off the top of my head is x_mods. I don't know if x_mods did a write up or just has pictures too but you might want to check his posts or give him a pm. You have any specific questions? I used 6" strips from V-Leds. The most difficult part was running the extra wire through the door jambs. It's definitely easier with a friend to get the wire through but not impossible by yourself. If you are planning on running any other wires to your doors I would do it at the same time (speakers, LED mirror turn signals, aftermarket power window modules, other switches). Than you just have to decide how and when you want them to turn on (switch, cargo light circuit, etc)

Best I have is on page 2 of my v-leds thread: http://www.clubfrontier.org/forums/f9/v-leds-dome-lights-77833/index2.html

But I'm sure 808UpFront or myself could answer almost any questions you may have about the details :)

p.s. 808: we need an update on all the awesomeness (nudge) :D
Utilitrac Mounted Bed Basket

Exterior Mod Update:
So I wanted to play around with the look of the truck and see about mounting a basket in the bed. This is version 1.0. Mostly an aesthetic mod (trying to change the look of the truck) but also wanted the added functionality. Needed the basket to be removable for when I go mountain biking.

Here is a link with more pictures http://www.clubfrontier.org/forums/f10/custom-utilitrac-mounted-bed-basket-81843/

New Grill

3 months later....Finally finished my grill mod. Grill was purchased from x_mods who bought it off of ebay. Mesh was bought from metrorestyling.com. I will have to look at my receipt to see which specific one I bought but I really like how it is not that visible/transparent. I made the burger. Grill was painted with color match paint from automotive touchup.com.

I am happy that this stuff is not sitting in my garage anymore! I like the grill with the custom burger but will have to wait a while to see if I keep it or not. I like the stock grill with the Nissan "v". Gonna run this one until I can paint/colormatch the stock one and install some kind of custom mesh and then decide which one I like better.

Closeup showing the mesh.
