Have a 10 KC Pro-4x 6spd. It has the non-RF 6 disc head unit.

Awhile back I noticed my music sounded flat, as if the EQ settings were at "0". Checked and they were still set where I left them (BASS +2, MID +2, TREBLE +3). But it still sounded flat, so I set the treble to +4 and it changed the sound dramatically, as if all 3 settings started working again. Now, everytime I leave the truck off for awhile it does the same thing, change the treble from +3 to +4 and back to +3 and sounds normal again.

Now, id imagine there's a battery in the head unit for memory.. But, the clock never changes, the EQ settings still display where I set them, so I'm not exactly sure what's going on here.

Not sure there was a non-RF 6CD head unit for the pro4x. Not all of them had a RF logo on the face. But regardless, mine gets cranky once in a while. "Forgets" the vol setting and turn the vol up or down on its own and then fails to allow you to control it. These HU are temperamental. Next time mine acts I am going to get an aftermarket one.

Not sure, I'll likely replace it with a Sony touch screen HU soon.
