Had to use 4wd all the time with my 1 ton Ram cummins diesel on Az ramps in summer when water hits 80 degrees and algee starts growing on the concrete. Might be ok if your just pulling little bass-ski boats under 20ft.

i did see a truck spin the tires today but they were pulling out a huge pontoon boat. i guess the size of your boat plays a big role in it. everyone was still pulling their boats out in 2wd and i only saw one truck spin the tires. none of the others were spinning. probably saw 20 trucks load and unload in about 3hrs time we were there. we used my brother's 2wd f-150 to pull out his jet ski with no problems.

the one that spun the tires was like an older 4runner. i think the boat weighed more than the suv did which may have been the issue there. he still made it out fine though. it also had highway tires on it not all terrains or anything like that. they looked pretty worn too not a lot of tread on them.
