It seems this time that my oil filter housing is leaking on the opposite side of the filter. Can this be replaced or should it had been taken off during this job?

I'm trying to figure out if the piece the oil filter is screwed on is replacable . That is where it is leaking from . Everything else is clean and dry under there. If I can get that part I may just fix it myself

I got back under the truck and cleaned everything off real good. I hope its just some left over oil from the last time in. Its barely a drip if it is still leaking its just hard to tell.

OP: If I am remembering correctly you CAN replace the part your talking about. When I had my motor out, I think it had like 3 or 4 bolts into the motor. I would have to go look at my pooched motor to 100% sure tho. I think I even thought to myself it just looked like some kind of extension to set the filter out from the motor, so it clears the cross member under the engine.

If you really need to know, I will go have a look at my motor for you. It's just sittin on a pallet anyhow.
