Major,

I would be a little hesitant to deal with them if they do not respond on a potential sale.
They might not be very helpful if you order it and then have a problem.

Having said that, it resembles very closely the Carriage Works grill I installed on my
'05 LE KC. One concern I would have with their grill is the ties to install it. Mine came
with anchor bolts that secure it. After several months I have not had a problem with the attachment of it other than to occasionaly snug them down.

You can view the Carriage Works grill at www.carriageworksinc.com. You can
also view my truck at www.picturetrail.com/okiescot. I really do like the style of both grills.

That is a cheap price they are asking, but you would have to see the grill to see if they
used quality parts. The Carriage Works is a nice heavy duty grill and I had to give $236.90 for it including shipping.

On the Carriage Works grills you have to be sure to tell them which model of truck you
have because the lower grill is different on the different models. They shipped me the first lower piece and it was a little too wide so I had to swap it out with them which
was done very quickly.

They shipped the replacement free of charge before I returned the one I had. They also
sent me the label to return the wrong one free of charge.

OkieScot,
Your advice is welcome and your concerns are mine as well. Your photos are great and the grill is exactly what I am looking for. I went to carriage works web site but could not find the grills for the “Frontier”. I went to Performance Nissan and they have a grill (4-Piece), which looks similar for $272. Performance Nissan was not aware of any differences in the lower grill dimensions.

Thanks

Major,

If you order a Carriage Works grill there is definitely a difference. I was originally sent a
lower grill part number 42472 that shows to fit an LE CC and a XE KC. The replacement
grill was a 42332 which did fit my LE KC. There is a difference in width on the two. It
is probably not more than 1/2" or so but the wide one would not fit my truck.

I ordered my grill from Autoanything back in August of this year. The price was $236.90.

OkieScot,
I just ordered the carriage works grill inserts from autoanything, they have a 10% discount & free shipping. Total cost $211.41. Not bad!

Thanks for the heads-up!

I'll post a picture when I get those installed!

Congratulations

You beat my deal by about 10%. The hardest part for me was installing the two side grills, or I should say one of the side grills. I tried to thread the anchor nuts onto the
screws. Very tight fit. On the second one I installed it first and then just pushed it through the honeycomb stock grill and it let the anchor nuts expand out then all I had to do was tighten them with a phillips head screwdriver.

I received my new carriage works grill Friday, piece of cake for the install! Everything fit just fine all hardware was bagged & taped to the "saran wrap". I wish they would use bubble wrap as one of the billets was slightly bent.

This mod really improves the appearnace, IMHO! The best of all is my wife agrees!

Polished!

Wirenut,
Some great photos, I especially liked #10, the one with the red caboose! I copied that particular photo into my collection.

The dealer & I were surprised when the truck showed up from California with chrome mirrors & door handles. I am not a big fan of "chrome" but I figured the polished billet would compliment the rest of the chrome.

Thanks for the photos!

Major,

Congratulations, your truck looks great. I have seen 2 other people post of the problem of shipping damage on the Carriage Works grill, but I did not have any on the original shipment nor the replacement of the lower grill.

That grill looks awesome. So a few ? for you guys with it.

1. Is the grill(Polished model) similiar to the stock chrome trim? (made of Plastic with a Chrome coating)
2. I checked out the website and would prefer the grill where the Nissan Logo is shown, has anyone purchased this one?
3. What do they mean by there description((Mounts Over Existing Grille) Does it actually mount over the current grill?

Thanks for the info. :D

05FRONTY,
1. The billet grill is made of aluminum and on my grill it is polished
2. I am not a big fan of "logos" though I am a Nissan fan I wanted a cleaner look! I know Courtesy Nissan sells a grill that does does not cover up the Nissan logo.
3. This particular grill mounts right over (in front of) the existing grill (looks like chicken wire). In order to mount this grill you have to remove the plastic Nissan hamburger. It just pops right off!. The carriage works billet grill is mounted utilizing thier hardware, it is very simple. Matter of fact the existing grill is what holds the billet grill in place.
