If you take care of your Frontier, it will take care of you. I am a Nissan Technician and I see alot of vehicles everyday need trannys or engines or whatnot because people dont take care of them like they should. Change the oil every 3K miles and rotate the tires every 7500 miles. Make sure to get your regular major maintinence @ 30K, 60K, 90K, etc.
I have a 2008 Frontier 2wd 4cyl SE King Cag with 6,100 miles on it. I have a 100,000 mile warranty. The only problem I have had is I had to replace the high side A/C tube b/c of a freon leak. Anyway, if you do regular maintainence when it is due, and dont drive it like a racecar, it will give you many years of dependable service. For example, we have a 2003 Nissan Frontier on our lot that belonged to a good customer and he traded it in on an 09 Frontier and his 2003 had 650,000 miles on it and it was all original.

Guna have to call BS on 650,000 miles.
A typo maybe?
Where is this guy driving 130k a year?
How much did he get for trade in? $5 bucks??

Im not saying its impossible to acheive that milege.
My dad has 196k on a 01 SC frontier that runs great and I believe the engine will go at least 200k more.
Tranny probably wont although it also operates very well at this milege.

06 XE kc. 42K miles. The only problem I've had is that the gas gauage stop working. It would read a quater tank even though i was empty. When i first ran out of gas it took me forever to figure out what was wrong, i thought i was just getting great gas milage, lol.

06 xe with 51,000 on it. my engine ticks like it shouldn't. i have been to three different stealerships and they all say that is is a normal noise with the 2.5. also i have burned a clutch from too many burn outs but other than that all is well

06 xe with 48,XXX and it runs like the day i bought it with 3 miles. never had a problem. the only thing that makes me mad is after a rain or when its really humid outside and lots of moisture in the air, that stupid idler pulley that squeals like crazy. it goes away after a few minutes of driving. i replaced it once at 25,XXX cuz it was only 27 bucks and put a new gatorback belt on it while i was at it. but it still does the noise. sucks.

My '07 has 35.5K, and the only things done to it--other than mods and maintenance--were body-related. No, I'm not unusually rough to it, it's just an occupational hazard (I work for DirecTV, hence the login name). My biggest hangup is my automatic transmission, which shifts whenever IT feels like (always later than when I want it to, I can attest). :thatswck:

09 with a whopping 3700 miles

So far so good, got a bit of a buzz or rattle around underside of the driver's side dash. (not a big deal to me and it went away when a tech rode with me after the first oil change, why does that always happen?)

Loose antenna (easy to fix) and a check engine light because my son loosened my gas cap for me. :)

I'm really liking it so far, hopefully the reliability will stack up to the Ford Ranger I had before this, although I felt like I was a can of ham on wheels in that thing. (so dadgum small)

I am going to add a comment here just to get this survey back on the first page of the "4 banger" forum. If you haven't commented on your '05 or later 4 cylinder Frontier please do so. Thank you.

just rolled over 77,000 on my '05. It's had the clutch replaced at 68K, race car driving haha. My advice with it, get a leveling kit from prg and get some 31's, rides way better and is way easier to drive on the freeway. also, exhaust and a custom cold air make them run a whole lot better. Next step on mine is a conversion from mechanical to electric fans and an under drive crank/power steering pullies.
