We all know it is coming....one day. This new forum is just being prepared for the inevitable.

Time to discuss what may be coming, what we wish for, and eventually, what we receive regarding the 3rd Gen Frontier.

My wish list: turbo V6

^ yes - two is better than one. And how could I forget the armrest? Though I do fins with this little one we have now, I bend my arm to put my hand flat on it, forcing me to have much better back posture.

How about green(s) or tan color choice?
2-tone paint schemes?
How about BETTER PAINT?? Geez.
Rear seating area delete for KCs as a work truck option?
~ I could see all kinds of USEFUL options for a proper work truck environment in both the cab & bed. Think NV vans and all their options.
7' bed option?
Optional sunroof on a KC?
Electric rear cab window option - sliding or drop-down?

All you 4x4 suspension guys probably have great ideas, eh?

Perhaps Nissan could educate their sales staff to at least approach what many potential buyers already know?

How about pricing so that most of us can actually afford one brand new!

I might be in the minority here, but I already like the NP300 design. It's about the same size as the current 2nd Gen, updated styling, updated suspension, updated interior. I still like the 2nd gen but let's face it - it's a 12+ year old design.

If I could trade in my current truck for this Limited Edition Navara Trek-1° I'd do it in a heartbeat:

We have these here already, had them for a while now. (not this specific trim) but loaded NP300. I really like them compared to the 2G, the interiors are really nice too. I'm waiting for the US version of the NP300 as I hate dealing with dealerships here and having to wait 15+ days on a part. Buying a US version vehicle means I can go on line purchase and have the part here within a week.

Long wait though, you guys have to get it first; but it's ok I'm still enjoying my 2G way too much still.

NP300 in El Salvador?

Hey Fernando629 - if you can collect a photo or two of the Navara down there in El Salvador on the street scene, It would be great to share with us all. even a shot or two from the local dealer lot in El Salvador would be good to see. Thanks in advance!

You have a great volcano park there in San Salvador- The papusa's were delicious. Party on.

HEY NISSAN:

6-sp manual trans: PLEASE make the reverse gear shorter, as in LESS T-A-L-L.

OR, just offer an all new revised 7-sp manual WITH comparatively shorter reverse gearing.

Note: all you 6-sp guys running taller 285s or larger w/o regearing are living an even taller reverse gear scenario.

What Happens When the 3rd Gens Are Here?

So what is the purpose of extracting discussions of the 3rd Generation Frontier from the General Discussion area; is it to remove fantasy talk from the real world? Should this instead have been named "Discussion of Yet To Be Released Frontiers" or will there eventually be yet another dedicated area to discuss 4th gen Frontiers? (prediction: they arrive in 2043, and I want rocket boosters on mine).

What is going to happen to this part of the forum once the trucks become reality? Will, for example, talk about coolant thermostats be separated- with 3rd gen thermostats in one place, and 1st and 2nd gen thermostats in another? Lifts for 3rd gen Frontiers in one place, and lifts for the others in another?

Maybe 3rd Gen Frontiers/NP300's/Navara's or whatever they're designated will have to get their own forum, like the hardbody trucks, and it won't be at ClubFrontier at all. >:D

Or maybe you need to calm down because it's not the end of the world. LOL

LOL, it's not the beginning or the end, that's right. If you knew me you'd know I'm generally pretty calm.

I find it odd that the forum is divided up so much that common information is not shared in a common place, it's divided up into segments according to which generation of truck the poster presumably owns. "General Discussion" seems to refer to 2nd Gen trucks, although there's lots of exceptions, then there's 1st gen and 3rd gen specific categories. I'm not worked up about it, just making note.

I also noticed the mods didn't make the effort to bring over all the older threads on "when is the new Frontier getting here" or such.

So far, none of the posts in any of these threads have been made by an owner of a 3rd gen truck . . .

Same, though I find it amusing that these days too many people react super defensive to the slightest comment that isn't inline with their opinions lol

I think a forum being divided by generation makes sense, 1st gen is all the older trucks. Maybe you're seeing the most content (including "General Discussion" revolving around the 2nd gen simply because the 2nd gen is/has been the current gen since 2005.

I did notice (since we're on topic) that there are tons of "stickies" in many of the forum sections. I agree the forum could probably be organized better, but it is what it is. The forum Mods do a decent job most of the time... I've seen worse on other boards, and I've seen better too.

All the "3rd gen Frontier" talk on here is just speculation really - there's no actual official 3rd generation 'Frontier". Everything people are saying/wishing/guessing/speculating that is the "3rd gen Frontier" is the Navara NP300. So there can't actually be a post or thread made by an owner of a 3rd gen frontier. Although we've already had a few Navara/NP300 owners post stuff before.
