3" spacers questions

1289 Views 9 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  Something
I have a PRG 2" lift with deavers and wanted to go up to 3" spacers to level the rake of the truck. I will be replacing my LCA's due to frozen camber bolts at the same time. Is this the max I can go without replacing the UCA's? I am not too concerned with the loss of articulation just want to level the truck. I have no coil bucket contact now so I can't see how adding a bit more hieght would effect anything right? Thanks.

You can get away w/o UCAs, pretty sure quite a few guys run that way, if you haven't heard/felt CB contact, you will.
I'm assuming your a 2wd since you don't care about flex at all (ie. you don't care about CV joints).

Your assumption that it won't cause CB contact is just wrong. I believe Mike posted a nice side view of the LCA, UCA and shock/coil w/ coilbucket so that you can see how the geometry changes when you add a spacer.

Basically you are going to push the UCA closer to the CB and any slight flex will cause contact. The only question is if you can deal with it and the looks from thers and the questions from passengers.
you will get more cb contact than you do now. i have the 3" and i dont really hit the cb unless i go over speed bumps too fast or off road. on the street you will be fine unless you hit abig pot hole.
I have a 4wd and never noticed any noise even at full suspension drop. Only running a 2" spacer. probably won't do a 3" only because I don't want any contact.
With a three inch lift in the rear, along with the spacers in the front, do you need to get new shocks and or brake lines?

You can run stock shocks but they'll wear out quickly, it's better that you upgrade to longer shocks. I don't think you will have problems with brake lines but I think you'll need to unclip them at some points and allow them some "air".
I'd suggest against 3" spacers.
If you're looking to level the rake out, subtract from your rear lift.
3" ADF spacer, new LCA's, and new camber bolts all ordered.
