i installed aftermarket UCAs for a 3" lift on my 2000 frontier, and i used 2" blocks for the rear. problem is the rear sits a lot higher than the front!:censor: (similar to the OEM "nose-down"). any suggestions to why this is? i thought a 3" lift would make my truck level. or did i go about this wrong? ive seen frontiers with this same lift sit higher..

start cranking on those bars
my t-bars are almost bottomed out, had them that way before i put on the UCAs. i think the problem is in the struts i ordered. i ordered them from shockwarehouse on their " 3" lift for frontier list". im thinking that they didnt take into account that one would want the rear to sit level. maybe the struts are too big? ive seen CF members put blocks or AAL with new struts and still get an even setup. what shocks should i get for the rear? (bilsteins please)

first off....your problem is not you shocks. they have nothing to do with lift.

i too am guessing its a torsion bar thing. did you have to reindex the torision bars? how far do the front UCAs sit over the the UCA bumpstop?

to get a full 3" of lift the UCAs will need to sit damn near on top of the bumpstop or touching it. i really think the best setup for the front is the AC UCAs and enoguh crank to net about 2" or 2.5" of lift. leaving about an inch of space between the UCA and bumptop. that way the ride is a little better.

The only two things on a Frontier that determine how hit it is are the leaf springs and the torsion bars. Shocks will not lift your truck. I guess you kind of have to understand how everything works to understand how to add lift.

If your torsion bars are maxed out they need to be re-indexed. this involves jacking the truck up with the front tires off the ground, taking out the adjustment bolts, pulling the bar out of the LCA anchor, rotating x number of splines (equal on both sides), putting it all back together and finally setting the height by referencing the distance between the UCAs and the UCA bump stops like Houdini said.

Ive got mine about 3/4 to an inch away. The closer you get, the less down travel the wheel has, the crappier the ride.

well, i didnt do the install myself...as a matter of fact i haven't seen my truck yet. took it to my cousin at Toyota. i think he didnt reindex the t-bars and thats why theyre maxed out. it just doesnt make sense that the rear would be so higher with only a 2" lift. i might have to take my frontier to a local shop...thanks for the help guys!!:fantastic: btw any idea what it might cost to re-index the bars, etc?

Not to be rude but it does make perfect sense. If all he did to the front was put on new arms, and never touched the torsion bars, it never got any higher, while the back went up however tall the blocks are.

When I bought my truck it had the 4x4parts 3" kit on it (didn't even know it right away to be honest). The truck sat just like yours does now and the bars were maxed out. Three years ago it took me and a buddy about an hour in a driveway with basic tools and basic knowledge to re-index them.

For the record, My alignments hasn't ended up perfect with the AC 3" suspension lift.
The alignment shop said it's impossible to get a perfect alignment with the kit and amount of lift it gives. I'm pretty sure I have mine right at the 3" mark, so stay around 2.5 like Houdini said to keep the ability to get your alignment perfect.

ok I see...sorry, but i dont know a whole lot on torsion bars. If all i have to do is re-index them then thats not a problem. would you happen to have any pictures of what the front suspension should look like? my plan is to take my truck to a shop in town, hope they dont hurt my wallet too bad.
