2wd Rear Sway Bar question

1301 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  shakedownstreet
I want to add a rear sway bar to my 2000 2wd XE King Cab to stop some of the body roll.

I can't add a factory bar because the rear axle doesn't have the factory brackets for the inner sway bar bushings welded onto the axle. Plus, it doesn't have the mounts on the frame for the sway bar links.

Does anyone have any experience with aftermarket sway bars? Just looking for recommendations.

i've got a hellwig. installation is a breeze, it just bolts on with a couple shackles. the reduction in body roll is significant

It looks like a quality kit. How do the sway bar links connect to the frame?

it's been a while since i put it on, and it's too wet to go out and look now. i can't remember if it shackled or there were some pre-existing holes.

if i find a good dry spot later, i'll take a gander for you

EDIT: you should be able to find them cheaper than that btw. i just linked you to the first example i found. i think i paid around $150 shipped
