2nd Trans Cooler

Had the trans cooler/radiator issue last fall and did the cooler bypass. Now that it's getting warmer, I'm wanting to add a 2nd small external trans cooler to make up for the loss of the one in the radiator. What are your opinions on this? Is it really necessary (specially with the summer heat)? Is there a downside to installing it if it's not really needed? Thanks!

Thanks for the input Larry. I keep going back and forth on this. I have a small cooler to install, but can't make up my mind if it will do more harm than good. I keep thinking that the radiator trans cooler is there for a reason and since it has been by-passed, it needs to be replaced. The truck shifted fine all winter, even with some of the extreme cold we had this year. I don't want it to run too cold in the winter but also, not too hot in the summer. I do not tow as of yet, so that's not an issue. Any other input?
