Had to go through a bit of water today to assist someone and took my truck through about 3' of water (up to the bed floor) though the engine compartment only went up to about the bottom of the fan. I kept the truck running while in the water for about 15 minutes.

Is there anything I need to check/drain/redo before driving daily, or above and beyond ordinary maintenance? This is an 05 2nd gen 4WD crew cab LE model. I was looking for the breather tubes but figured I'd post here and get some expert advice while I'm looking around.

Thanks for any and all tips, I do some offroading in mud, but basically no deep water so I want to make sure I don';t miss anything , especially since this is my (only) daily driver.

good time to do the fluids in the diffs. also depending on the mileage do the trans 2. might as well be safe. the rear diff breather is lower then the bed floor so that would be were I would start the front in up to the intake.

It wouldn't hurt to go ahead and change the differential fluid and check the transmission fluid and engine oil.
Since you kept the engine running, your oil and transmission are probably fine.
If this is a repeated habit, I would get a tube of di-electric grease and open all the electrical connections and regrease them to keep them from corroding.

Thanks much to all the suggestions. I will be trying to change the fluids first thing in the morning as I have a 400 mile drive back to Atlanta Sunday and would rather not take any chances. The breather mod might come next week, along with greasing up as many low-side electrical connections as I can find.

Wet offroad has definitely not been a habit for me, in fact, this truck has never seen more than 8 or 10 inches before. In this case however it was either risk my truck in a little water or let a friends 1st gen float away :)
