2022 Frontier Cruise Control issue

Anyone else's cruise control rapidly accelerating and jumping over 5000 rpm on relativity small hills? My 2013 Frontier never goes over 3000 on same hills.

Any word on whether Nissan is working on a fix?

I asked last week and they played stupid. It's a matter of a firmware update if enough complain about it.
My last 2 frontiers didn't ack this bad.

Just curious, but what speed did you have it set to? I seldom use cruise on my 2020 SV 4x4, but when I do I lock it in at 65 mph and it seldom gets above 1500 RPM, even crossing some mountains.
It does it at 65 as well. Rarely at speeds below that. But I believe it is a 2022 specific issue. My 2013 doesn't do it.

Interesting. Ours should be the same except for maybe firmware/software, 3.8L with the 9 speed auto.
Agreed. I think it's a software issues
Ya, it basically goes wide open throttle to get back up to speed for just 1 or two mph.

Mine too. Absolutely ridiculous.

Very much so. Start up a small hill, lose 1-2 mph and it drops 5 gears and Rev a way up to regain that small amount. Completely unnecessary.

You guys that are having this issue, does it only do it when you’re using adaptive cruise or does it do it when you’re using regular cruise as well? I’m just curious since the powertrain has been out for a couple years & this problem has just started to surface. Those of us with 20/21’s don’t seem to have the issue (or at least I don’t recall anyone saying they did), but we also don’t have adaptive cruise.

Yup. Took a 400 mile trip this weekend and by far the worst part of the drive was the cruise. As described by many, my experience is the same. It is completely unnecessary to downshift 3 gears to get back 5 mph. Com'on

It happens on both forms of cruise control. Though at times it does seem worse on adaptive cruise. Love my truck, but will love it much more once this is addressed.

Absolutely this.
I noticed as well, and for what ever reason, after pressing the distance control like 6x (testing the distances) while in cruise, the excessive downshift went away. Could be worth a try. I keep my distance typically between the shortest and middle setting, but after cycling the settings a few times one trip, it’s gone now. Crossing fingers it stays this way.

My 2020 did this and so does my 2022, very aggravating!! 🤬 don’t even have to be a hill, going over the local bridge downshifts and revs mine 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yes! Love my truck but don’t Lise the cruise control at all because of the erratic down shifting.

Has anyone gotten anywhere with this? I called Nissan and they played dumb, opened up a case on it and said I have to try with dealership before they escalate it.
