Hey guys, I bought a "used" 2017 back in July (the lady traded it in after 75 miles for an F150). So far I love the truck. I traded in a 2015 Focus ST so it was a bit of an adjustment not driving a race car daily. So far I've put a K&N intake on it (which I scored for less than $100) and have tinted the windows. Next I plan on doing an MBRP exhaust.

Love that Gun Metal!

Expect some cruising drone w/ your exhaust choice, though, perhaps you're used to it if you replaced your Focus w/ HiPo aftermarket system?

The color is probably my least favorite thing about the truck! That and the transmission lol but for what I paid, I can't complain about either!! And I had a roush exhaust on my ST, pretty much a straight three inch exhaust from the cat back, paired with a full atmospheric blow off valve. So I am very very used to noise.

I don't consider myself old at 56 but I love that color and if I could've found one in that color the day I bought my 17 I would have preferred it instead I wound up with the white one. Anyway you did get a nice vehicle you'll enjoy it

What are other popular mods that are available for the ‘17? As I said, I put a CAI and tinted the windows. Would like the level up the front as well but not sure where to look for that/ good companies. I’ve never owned a truck worth putting money into (past trucks were a 2wd 1990 GMC Sierra regular cab short bed V8, miss it everyday and a 1996 Ram 1500 V8 5 speed) and coming from the turbo 4 cylinder world, I’m at a loss

Wow, your racking them up. I've had mine for a month now. And 1300 miles, already did the first oil change at 600 miles. Yes some will say it's over kill. But I've always done it just after what I think the break-in is done. Just to get the New motor debris if at all out.

I took mine on a road trip from PA to OBX before I even had it a week so it got some miles there but I’ve been doing a lot of driving on the weekends now to take my ATV different places to go riding. Also have hauled some stuff for friends (such as the Harley in the one pic)

Lift/level kits

I have the same year truck in the same color. You could get a lift/leveling kit for it. I got mine from rough country. However just know that using spacers for the front will cause issues. The 2.5" leveling kit used extended shackles for the rear and spacers for the front coil/shock assembly. The issue: Nissan's stock upper control arms are too short and you'll find out real real quick after hitting a bump that the arms do not clear the coil bucket (UCA hits). I had to go with new UCA from SPC. Not only do they clear the coil bucket and give you extended travel, but the UCA ball joint has a grease port to grease the joint. (stock arms don't ). If you do decide to lift/level be sure to keep this in mind!

Yeah I ordered the rough country leveling kit. It’ll be installed Saturday. Is there any long term issues with the UCA hitting? I don’t care about noise at all. I might get bump stops eventually

Bump stops would be the cheapest and quickest "band-aid" but not a solution. I just didn't like the idea of having metal parts hitting each other during normal use. I mean I drove the truck the same way people with lowered cars would drive (taking speed bumps and dips at low speeds) which isn't any fun. Plus mine is 4x4 and I wanted to take it off-road... So i just bit the bullet and went with the new arms(+$500). I am extremely pleased with the way it came out. I also swapped out the lower control arm bolts for Cam Bolts(~$30) to make the alignment job much easier. I uploaded pics of the damage it was causing... And this is going less than 10-15 mph over a speed bump. so i can only imagine what would happen when hitting a pothole or something at much higher speeds... I've also heard of people cutting the coil bucket to allow for clearance but again, not a fan of cutting into my new truck...

Yeah I don’t really care about metal on metal. Driving beaters and lowered cars since I was 16 so I’m used to loud bangs and odd noises. I’ll end up getting bump stops eventually. Or possible cutting the buckets if I can find a good thread on it. I don’t mind cutting up new vehicles lol. My ST had 2k miles on it and I took a saw to the exhaust and cut it off lol

You couldn't just unbolt it?

Nope. The rear section goes up over the rear suspension, so the resonator wouldn’t fit through it so you have to cut it right in front of the rear suspension. Super hard to take back to stock which is why I just left my aftermarket on when I traded it in
