I searched and didn't find a recent thread on this, so I apologize if there is one.

I bought a new '16 KC S with 5-speed and the "preferred" package about a month ago (posted a pic in new members when I joined ::smile:: ). I have the opportunity to buy an extended warranty through my bank, USAA. It is called a "manufacturers wrap" warranty, which after reading the fine print is basically a true bumper-to-bumper warranty that extends to the end of Nissan's 60K powertrain warranty.

The cost is $533 including tax, it's transferable and USAA and the company that underwrites the warranty have good reputations. So, my question is: Is $533 a reasonable price for what is basically a bumper-to-bumper warranty that is good for 60K miles? I know that the Fronty has good reliability, but are there any gremlins or anything that may cost a bunch later on? Incidentally, I drive a lot. I could easily have that 60K miles on the clock in 3-4 years.

Your feedback would be valuable. Oh, and the warranty has no deductible if that helps.

$533 is easily spent on one of many parts that could go bad after 36K miles. Window regulators or switches, any of the control modules for the computer(s) etc.

Had it cost any more, I would start to think about it, but I wouldn't loose one minute of sleep over it for $533. I paid about $1200 for my extended warranty that takes me to 100K miles and it covered the $4400 cost of replacing my rear differential at about 62K miles, so, the cost/risk worked out for me.

^ ^ Agreed.... you can barely pull into a dealership service bay for under $500. these days.

After I got my Frontier, I decided to take my Dodge in and get it a full service before
I gave it to my kid. Nothing was wrong with it, just wanted the fluids changed and every-
thing greased and adjusted, they quoted me $2400.!!! I only took it there because I was
already playing with the Frontier and didn't want to mess with it... wound up doing it
myself.

Well that pretty much was my thought, but I wanted to get unbiased opinions. Thanks for the input and I think I will go ahead and do the extended warranty then.

Thanks!

That's pretty good for a transferable non deductible bumper to bumper warranty.
