What exactly is wrong with the old switch? Is it just non-functioning, or is the button broken or missing?
If its' just non-functioning, you can open the switch carefully and do some forensics to clean it up and get it working. Many times the contact points are burned, and they can be cleaned up good with emery paper. Just be sure to have a clean well lit surface to repair that switch, as tiny springs can pop out loose if you're not careful and methodical.
The problem with a universal switch or one from another model is fitting it in the door. You can always try a junkyard to get one from the proper model.
