i'm betting 2011 will be almost identical to 2010 for the frontier. the titan is getting a whole new platform. i'd say the frontier will be all new (gen 3) for MY 2012. i wouldn't be surprised by a 4.0 liter direct injection VQ making at least 300 hp and 350ish ft lbs of torque. i'd expect the 7 spd automatic used in the 370z to make an appearance, don't know about the rev matching down shifts for manual owners, just don't see where that is a viable option cost-wise for a truck.

they new 400lb-ft tq diesel would be very nice but i doubt we'll be seeing that anytime soon here. and i don't see a v8 ever becoming an option, theres just no reason for it. thats what the titan is for. there probably wont be much of any changes made untill they finish the new platform for the titan and like it is now the frontier, xterra, armada, and pathfinder will all follow. i would expect a different front diff and rear axle or atleast nicely upgraded from their current states. and a bit of suspension changes would be nice too. my .02

^^^ :\ says the titan is due to be canceled, yet we just read a story last week confirming a 2nd gen... wonder if any of that is true? i spoke with a rep from NNA at zdayz this past weekend and he could neither confirm nor deny that direct injection replacements of our current engines are what's next for the platform. take a clue from the new QX56 which is now toting a D/I VK56 pushing over 400 hp, that motor will undoubtedly end up under the hood of the next titan and we will likely get a derivative of the VQ37 VHR engine from the 370, only with direct injection. most likely, as i said before, in the 300ish hp range with more-than-that torque

It would be nice to get hte 5.0ltr from the Infintiy fx50. 400hp an 390Tq would be nice. I could see a V8 because now they get fuel economy of what V6s get now. I dought we'd get the diesel. If we did 2012 would be inevitable. A 6 or 7 speed double clutch transmission would be great.

i think it will be a while before we see dual clutch transmissions in trucks. i foresee a 6spd manual or 7 spd auto for all models (same as the 370z).

it's an auto trans that has similar internals to a manual but with a clutch on both sides for smooth shifting.
