When I come to a stop, and the truck is idling in gear, it has a noticeable vibration that disappears when I step on the gas and raise the idle alittle, about 50/100 RPMs. Can the idle be ajusted on 2010 nissan frontier V6?

for some reason the factory has the idle set really low, or at least thats the case on my 05, mine shakes a little when it idles as well and so do others from the stories ive heard. i know one way to fix it is to get a tuner and raise the idle approx. 200rpm, there might be other ways if anyone else wants to jump in

I've read that some take to dealer and they adjust, but its only by 50 -100 rpms, cant remember. Its just enough to smooth it out.

Congrats on your 2010 Frontier LE. I too have a 2010 LE and am very pleased. Sorry to hear you are having a vibration issue - since your LE is new, take it to the dealer where you purchased it and have them resolve this issue. Sorry, I don't have any remedy to offer for the vibration but I'm sure your dealer will have a solution.

Until then, enjoy your new truck. I've had mine for a bit over 2 months and have driven about 1600 miles and look forward to the next outing. Once the snow melts!

Christmas Cheers!

I've seen a tuner call a Bully Dog which states you can raise the idle to 250 rpm.
the cost is $379.00.
I don't really don't want to mess with the computer setting, the truck is brand new (300 miles).
I'll let the dealership mess with it first. I thought you could a ajust the idle manuelly, but since have found out that is not possiable.

Is it possible your compressor is cycling on for defrost or a/c and causing a drag on the idle?
Hope you enjoy your truck. They will make it right.

This is just a known problem with all of them, even the altimas do it.

Who knows why they have the idle so low, makes no sense.

Usually the vibration goes AWAY when the AC pump kicks in or if you're turning the wheel because the ECM knocks the throttle up a little bit to give it a bit of more power to run the AC pump, alternator, or power steering, etc.

My 2005 just started doing this (that I noticed). I checked the idle with UpRev's Cypher and it fluctuated below 650 rpm. The service manual specs 700 +/- 50 rpm for auto transmissions. So I adjusted it too 700. All good.

For those that have over 30K miles on their truck may want to pull of their throttle body, look in it from the back side, you'll probably find a lot of gunk build up on the brass colored throttle valve. This restricts air into the engine when it is idling, thus causing a lower-than-normal idle speed.

The services advisor tell me the truck is to spec and that he can not ajust the idel without the factory rep. permisson. WTF.
So now i must contact the factory rep. and ***** at them.

Go to another dealer, they can raise the idle speed to fix the problem.I did mine for the same reason. You dont raise it that much to fix the problem, most of the time it only takes 50 to 75 rpm increase to do it.
