Is Nissan for real?
dude, this IS a legitimate question... the problem is this has been asked several times before and fully fleshed out elsewhere, why not just read that thread instead of making a new one? we (the OG's) get tired of answering the same :damn: questions all the time only to see someone post the exact same question a week later... that gets old quickThe guy asked a question, a legitimate question that is good conversation so why dont you get a life and worry about foul language rather then your own interest in some ones post.
Ban search Nazi's!
Didn't realize this forum was so big that it is in it's twilight years. So what is something that hasn't been posted before that won't upset somebody?....................................
please try searching before you make another useless thread. your count is now at 3.
Don't sweat it! Your tailgate will hold more than 200lbs.Didn't realize this forum was so big that it is in it's twilight years. So what is something that hasn't been posted before that won't upset somebody?
Sorry, I guess I just don't understand what this place is about.
use the search feature before posting, helps a lot with the bazillion threads there are. unless you're trying something new, it's been talked about and beaten to death here.Didn't realize this forum was so big that it is in it's twilight years. I had two of my Samoan bros sit on my tailgate and everything is just fine. I think it can take more then 200lb..Don't sweat it! Your tailgate will hold more than 200lbs.

...this^^ is exactly what we're talking about. coming onto a forum and posting stuff off the cuff with little or no information as to exactly what you are asking or what your problem is really gets on some people's nerves, mine included. there's a reason i don't spend a lot of time on this forum anymore, usually there isn't much new going on. it's typically the same ol' questions asked by different faces answered by somewhat older members over and over again. yes this happens on a lot of forums but that doesn't mean it should. genocide happens every day in african countries... doesn't mean it's right (though obviously that's a lot more serious than some 1's and 0's on a random server, by far). i'm all for people joining this site and learning bout their trucks. i did the same thing back in 06 when i bought mine, but be reasonable about posts and if you have a legitimate issue or problem, ask a legit question not some random stir-the-pot post that does nothing but clog up the rest of an otherwise good forumi'm not intending to speak for the membership, so keep in mind this is only my personal observation. in your case, i don't think it's so much that the topic had been posted before as much as it was that you did not offer any new information or perspective on the topic. apparently, and i didn't see your other threads, you had done the same thing in other instances. now, if you had decided to approach the topic by load testing your tailgate to failure and sharing the results and parameters, i think you would have received a very different reaction.
my feeling is that this forum is like others in that you will get back what you put in and more. starting off with several not so thought provoking comments is probably not the best way to go though. the membership here is smaller and things are noticed for good and bad. for anyone that has put a lot of time and effort into posting or contributing to parts of a forum there is always the tendency to want to guard against it degenerating into gibberish - as so many other once strong forums have. you could take that as a positive that people here still care enough about the place to be concerned.
it's also true that the search function here is very useful. it's a pretty specialized forum covering a narrow period of time. the number of possible topics is simply not that large. chances are it has been addressed at some point and it's likely the information is still relevant. there is a lot of good information and really is an advantage to check the archives.
That would be a great thread.Well said, and I agree with your rationale, HKY
In hindsight, if I were going to start a thread concerning the 200 lb weight limit, I would ask everyone to post pictures of objects weighing more than 200 lbs on the tailgate - humorous or not. Perhaps 200 lbs of Twinkies or 200 lbs of bull$hit to officially call BS.
