Thanks for the warm welcome all. I need the torque sequence for my 2007 4.0 Frontier cylinder head. that final 29 ft lb plus two 90 degrees clockwise turns does not seem too tight to me. unless I am interpreting the instructions wrongly. Please help! Thanks.

I am trying to find out if I can torque my cylinder head bolts without the 90 degrees turn at the end of sequence. is there an easier way to tighten head bolts that what was describe in FSM? like say 30 ft lb ->50 ft lb -> to 72 ft lb?

personally, i believe it should be done as stated in the manual as the bolt
is not to be torqued just per specification in in/lb, but also an additional
'torque to yield' based on arc/rotation. so if you have already torqued
it to the specified ft/lb, how would you know what the additional ft/lb
that is needed to attain the 90º ?
