2007 Frontier NISMO with only 24k miles. Yesterday, went to use the A/C for the first time this year. Nada. Ran the A/C for at least 25 minutes and it just blew warm air. Cycled it on/off numerous times, tried MAX A/C, vent open, vent closed, etc etc etc. Nothing. Any known issues with A/C on this truck, anything I can troubleshoot myself? Thanks.

probably lost its charge. wouldn't try to run it until it gets fixed. you may have to take it in to see where its leaking from. unless you are hvac savvy that is.

I can do minor mechanical and electrical stuff but have never touched A/C. I'll call the dealer...

manual says 4-14 ac should be operated for approx 10 mins at least once a month. maybe yours got clogged

Theres alot of things that can go wrong without its losing its charge. Sounds for sure like the compressor isn't running. Could be that the switch that turns off the compressor when pressure gets too high is stuck, or the switch that keeps it from turning on when the charge is low is stuck. If you've got a copy of the FSM then you could probably diagnose it yourself.

I had a very similar problem, and ive seen many threads about this issue, we should get a sticky about it or something...

anyway, the way mine was acting was like this
1 AC on Blower off
2 AC off Blower on
3 AC flicker blower on
4 AC flicker blower on

and so i swapped the resistor, shown in this thread:

and now everything works fine, just in time for summer

My 2007 SE AC fails in hot weather, engine temp gauge says very hot. Even on the '80s and traveling at least 25-30 mph. Seems to be getting worse. Dealer may volunteer to do a recharge. I don't do the work myself. Has 185000 miles but runs quiet, acts good. No leaks, not using oil, etc. Skates through DEQ. Would this be more an AC problem or transmission? (Auto). Sounds like AC but motor also indicates very hot. Today AC was blowing warm air and temp went up almost to the extra-hot range. Kinda scary.

Address the hot engine issues first and SOON !!!

It is possible for the AC issue to be related, if the radiator cooling fan(s), fan clutch, radiator shroud are malfunctioning or absent.

I had the A/C clutch coil fail on my 06 Pathy. I ended up finding an aftermarket clutch assembly for $110 and replacing it on the vehicle. It wasn't too bad of a job. If you do an IPDM active test, it'll activate the clutch 3X during the test, right after testing the wipers and headlamps and before testing the electric fan. If I remember the procedure correctly, you turn off all of your electric accessories and lights and close all but the driver's door, turn the key to the "on" position, push in the driver's door switch 10X, turn the key to the "off" position and then turn back to the "on" position and the tests should start on its own.
