I may need a new alternator and I did it myself a while ago but I couldn’t figure out how to use the bracket tensioner to loosen belt and alternator with lack of room and cold it was a crappy job any tips on how to use bracket tensioner?

It’s a pretty simple thing really. To adjust belt tension: Loosen bolt A which allows that little rectangular block to slide, Loosen bolt B to allow the alternator to pivot, and turn bolt C clockwise to tighten the belt, counter clockwise to loosen the belt. Don’t forget to tighten A and B when you’re done.

Thanks so much man this will really help I live in New England and last time I did it was last Jan and it was cold and i did try the brackets to loosen and tension and it didn’t seem like it was working “probably wasn’t doing it right” but it was cold and just a bad time in the dark below 5 lol
