2001 Stock Radio remains on ???

Standard single cd/am/fm radio 2001 frontier xe; all of a sudden radio remains on after I turn engine off and remove key from ignition? Any ideas?:confused:

one possible fix: buy a switch and some wire, pull the radio, find the unswitched (always-on ~12v, usually yellow) power wire, cut it and run it through the switch, mount switch somewhere.

more elegant fix: buy a new stereo.
