Well Im not looking specifically for more power or else I would have bought a v6, but I want to do everything I can for better gas mileage, I absolutely love this truck, its not very fast but comfy as hell and gets the job done while looking badass.

Althought I should have searched a little more before I bought this truck due to the fact I cant find a single performance part for this thing. All I really wanted to do was an intake, and exhaust and convert to an electric fan instead of the mech. I dont know about a header since most new cars are sensitive to those. I also have a few other tricks to gain fuel economy but I wanted to start off with those. Worse comes to worse I will make my own exhaust.

That 2.5L motor is not new, you may want to look at a prior year Frontier with the 2.5L and see how the intake and exhaust are set up, they might be compatible. It's taken a while the the aftermarket to start producing mods for the 4.0L as well, but everyday there seem to be more and more available. I'm sure Nissan sells way more of the V6 Frontiers than the 4 cyl, so it's logical for the aftermarket to focus their energy there first. I'm sure there will be more comeing and the 2.5L will start getting their share as well! I think there are already cat-back exhaust systems available for the 4, but I don't recall which brand.

I thought the 05 was the first frontier to get the qr25de, and the 04 and earlier were ka24 motors? I know the QR was in the sentra and altima with slight variations, but those parts wont fit the frontier. But thanks for the input I appreciate it

I guess I was thinking of the Altima and just assumed it was the same engine in the Frontier! Sorry about that! I still recall seeing an aftermarket exhaust for the 05 Froniier with the 2.5L engine, I just remember what brand or where I sae it. You might want to post a note for JerseyParts, he works for Nissan and may knowwhat's available for that engine. He operates www.yournissanparts.com, and I bought my Banks Monster Exhaust cat-back system from him, and he had the best prive on the web! Good guy, very helpful, and extremely responsive to inquiries!

The Stillen Website lists a Magnaflow staninless steel cat-back exhaust for the 2005 Frontier with the 2.5L engine. Their price is $459.00. I looked on the Magnaflow website and they listed that system as coming soon, but maybe they are slow at updating their website, and Stillen is getting the first production systems. Anyway, there is at least one exhaust system on the market for the 2.5L 05's!

Hi from Australia.
Sorry for hijacking this thread, but we run a similar qr25de engine in our Nissan xtrail. My question relates to the positioning of your air intake and the risk of water ingress. Our system has the air intake above the radiator, which is dangerous for water crossings etc. Can anyone please tell me where the air intake is on your qr25de equipt vehicles and if anyone has modified this intake for off-road purposes. I can't fit the CAI due to the water issues also, but feel the pod would suck in warm air.
Any help is appreciated.
