Hi I'm new to this forums::grin....So I have a 2016 Nissan Frontier s model manual transmission that came without ac from factory..that been said I bought all the ac parts put it together, I took down the dash and all that good stuff, I vacuumed the system refilled it but when I turn on the ac the compressor it's not turning on. My question is do I have to change the computer as well? Or just go to the dealer and have them add the ac function to my computer any help would be appreciated

Good luck man, I would have sucked it up and traded in for one with AC and taken the loss than do what you are doing. Maybe back in the 1980's and prior it was simple to install AC after the fact, but nowadays, to much control circuitry and extra modules like the body control and power control that are software control on a CAN BUS that make this a way big undertaking.

Also, most dealers are only setup for flashing software for "As Built" and how it left the factory.

Well I like a challenge, but yeah that is a HUGE challenge, I didn't even know they were offered without A/C

Very rare indeed. The base model of the base model. To my knowledge, the ECM actually calls for cooling when you press the AC button. That being said, I don't know if the basic model has the same functionality, since it would require slightly different fuel mapping at idle and such. So, I might ask a Nissan mechanic before spending the money on a new ECM. Maybe it can be flashed?
