Minor problem, but still annoying. Anyone with a 2005 extended cab. Does your right rear jump seat fall down all the time. It has that annoying plastic box on it for extending seat for child safety seat. I believe the weight of that and the metal legs inside are causing to much weight at the top of the fulcrum so to speak. Every time I brake hard or hit a bump the sat folds down. Is this a problem with the springs on seat or a design problem. I may remove the child seat thingy but it will leave those two metal clips exposed that cannot be removed. Any thoughts on this issue???

I've had the seats folded up since the day I took delivery and they have never fallen down! Is there a bolt or nut at the pivot point that can be tightened? Personally I wish they could be removed, they certainly aren't very functional, and just take up valuble interior storage space!

Tightenign Seat Spring

Don't know if there is a bolt or it is a pre-tensioned spring. I am installing my new Tweeters this weekend then I will take a closer look. Seat Goblins...hmmm I wonder if they are kin to nose goblins....

rear jump seat

I just got back off vacation, but the day before I left I noticed the right jump seat was down. I have not had time to check it out to see if it is a one time thing or if it is going to be an on going problem.

Like Paul, I too wish the seats were out of the way. I'll have to look to see if they can be removed without leaving an ugly mess.

Gerald,

I can save you some trouble... I removed the driver's side jump seat when I installed the back-up sensors, and it wasn't pretty! Lots of bare painted surfaces showing through tne trim, and the mounting holes and brackets would be tough to cover up!

Temporary Fix???

Well discovered there is no way to adjust spring tension or anything. I removed the child seat hardware under that plastic cover and the just left the two little metal tabs...not really noticeable or in the way. 4 days driving and has not fallen yet. Gonna talk to rep shop about problem.. I strongly suspect there will be a TSB on this issue.
