My 1999 Nissan Frontier is acting up on me. Just last week while driving it suddenly loses all power and dies on the highway. Tried to restart it but it has zero power.

A jump start got it rolling again but it dies down the road. We bought a new battery and it worked fine again after that.

Fast forward to today it did the same thing again. Could it be the alternator? We already replaced that a few years ago with a brand new unit.

When I had my Mazda 6 this same exact thing happened to me. There was a bad cell in the battery. So if you replaced the battery and it's still doing it..definitely alternator. When any vehicle does as you described usually it's assumed to be the alternator. Occasionally you'll have a bad battery that causes it, but my money is on the alternator.
