hello everyone.. i need some assistance.... somehow my dad managed to blow the 100 amp fuse in the (middle of the) fuse panel next to the battery. no power to ignition now. i was not able to pull the fuse out, instead i ended up breaking it apart in pieces and im wondering if this fuse is a fuse or is it a fusible link or is it built into the plastic fuse housing or is it screwed in from below? There are two large wires mounted to the side of the fuse holder assembly near the bottom, mounted by screws, but i wasnt able to take those out with the tools i had at the time. how do i replace the 100 amp fuse, or do i replace the whole housing?

my roadside repair to get the truck home involved a 2 inch piece of coat hanger, bent and shoved down into the 100 amp fuse spot... :crikey:

fuse

Mine blew last year on the beach in the rain. The fuse is bolted in! Has 2 bolts that have to be removed to get it out.I tore mine up and did the same coat hanger trick to get it back to my shop. Had to take the whole fuse box loose to get to it.

Thisa happend to me last week the fuseable link is bolted in so you have to un clip hlf of the fuse block to get to the 2 bolts on on each side. the clips on the motor side are easy to see but the ones on the fender side are a pain the are very small and kinda oporate like switches take a small flat head and pop them to the side. then the block will pull straight up and give you acsess to mthe bolts. good luck...

I know Im ten years late into this forum but I just ran across the same problem with a blown 100A fuse. I have taken the clips off the motor side but unsure as to how to take the clips off the fender side... when your talking about the fender side, are you talking about the tabs in the middle because its seems like there are two boxes, or the the tabs on the very most outer side of the box? thanks in advance... fingers crossed hoping for a reply back !!!
