New to the site and just purchased my first Nissan truck. Its a 98 Frontier X-Cab 4x4. Looks good but has 275k miles on all original body and engine. Got a few plans for it including..........I would like to put some aftermarket wheels on it and was wondering if any other truck wheel will interchange? Local ads here claim that Chevy 6 bolt and Toyota 4x4 will swap. Others have told me that Nissan is not interchangable with other makes. I tried the "search" on here before posting but didn't find any info.

Any advice/help appreciated.

Thanks guys, I intend to enjoy this 98 as somewhat of a project truck. Looking for used wheels to dress it up a little. Finding a lot of aftermarket wheels advertised as fitting Chevy or Toyota so I'm glad to know they'll fit mine now. :)

Going by whether or not the wheels fit a chevy or yota can still get you in trouble because not all of them used the same bolt pattern. You need wheels that have a 6 on 5.5 bolt pattern. That is what you need to look for.

Yup, like the other said chevy and toy wheels will fit, also some jeeps run 6 on 5.5, I have a set from a wagoneer on my SAS truck.

The 2nd gen trucks (05+) have a 6 on 4.5 wheel, thats the odd ball.

:itsfriday:

also keeo in mind that the wheels meant for the chevys and yotas will have a different backspacing. usually its less than what our trucks run stock. wider stance isnt a bad thing in my eyes but just something for you know before you buy some, put them on and go crap i didnt want that

What I have in mind is a 31 x 10.50 tire on a 8" or 8.5" wide wheel. I would like the side wall of the tire to extend to the outer edge of the fender flare or possibly just a little outside of it. I'm not sure what back spacing on the wheel will give me this appearance. I'll have to do a little measuring. I've got the image I want in my head, I just need to get it on the truck now. I've considered a 10" wide wheel but I'm thinking that's going to be too much wheel for a 31/10.50 I do like the appearance of some front spacing or "dish" to the wheel. I know that's not what's in style predominately these days. I guess I'm "old school" to some degree :)
