Hey gang,

First time poster here, great forum. I've been an aircooled porsche guy for many years, picked up a '12 crew cab, manual, 4x4 frontier the other week. It was a challenge to find exactly what I wanted as manual 4x4 crew trucks are hard to come by.

This truck is almost there - now working to make it look/function the way I'd like, starting with swapping the stock front bumper. I didn't see any threads where people made the conversion to completion, so here it goes for others considering:

I wanted to post both part lists so you'd have a sense of what to source. It's not as easy as just cutting the plastic bumper in two and swapping in the chrome - the supports aren't there.

I used a combo of OEM, ebay and rockauto to get the parts. Took it to a shop to paint the upper trim and had them install.

Only surprise is that I had to buy new foglights as the previous ones wouldn't fit the new chrome bumper.

Here's the final result:

It can really vary depending on if you go OEM or repro. For just the upper and lower bumpers, trim and the associated hardware I spent ~$400 shipped. Then the fog lights after the fact. If I went all OEM, I could have easily spent $1,000 on parts alone.

Nope, can't trim the original. Different upper trim piece that needs to be supported in a different way.
A lot of people trim the original when they go aftermarket... So I guess if you're doing a swap to stock metal bumper, then you need the different piece.
