Turned over 100k miles this past weekend.

So far so good!

-warranty work done: 25k miles--rear pinion seal leak, entire rear axle replaced under warranty

-replaced battery at 98k miles

-original BFG Rugged Trails lasted 60k miles and had maybe 10k left in them

-original brake pads have probably 20k miles left on them

-replaced fan belt at 80k miles when I installed the WRP Crank Pulley

-things that need replaced:
--leaf springs have been FLAT for a while, most likely from the 3" lift adjustable shackles
--shocks all around are worn out
--spark plugs, cause the owner's manual says so

other than that stuff, it runs/drives great, no worries.

Wow, that is a ton of miles on an 08. I have 61k on my 05 which I drive everyday. The most impressive thing is your original Rugged Trails lasted 60k???? I didn't even get 30 out of mine.

I put 130,000 on my '05 before I traded it back in 2008. At that time I was putting 60,000 miles per year on in my sales job. I bought my 2010 the day before Easter and am already at 13000 miles. The 2005 was a 6-speed manual and outside of routine maintenance, the truck was 100% trouble free.

Some people here are quick to bash this vehicle- but I have had nothing but good experiences.

I am in the same boat as Sangster: A very happy camper!:)

Ziemann & Sangster

You gotta love what Nissan has done with this Frontier line. Value, reliability and design. I'm on my second one.

"In other news, GM (gubmint motors) just introduced the VOLT!"

no way I would drive my truck that much. I would get a honda fit or something, it would pay for itself in gas savings alone.

i enjoy driving, but I know myself. I couldn't drive something like a Honda Fit and enjoy it. Besides, most of my offroading is done on the way home from work.

Most of those miles i get a mileage reimbursement, so a 2nd vehicle would actually cost me more. The company pays $0.55 per mile in reimbursement. Even though my office is 51 miles away, when I leave my driveway I'm "on the job". Most days I never even go to my office. Just from customer to customer. I sell corporate telecommunications services to education, government and hotel/motel customers.

55 cents per mile, dang. I remember when it was only 45. That means your company paid you 55k in the last 2 yrs to drive your truck. That is totally worth it in my book. Heck, after paying for gas, repairs and mods, you still made a profit, lol.

I just got a new job that will be 130 miles round trip. First thing we did was go buy a 2010 Altima for my wife and I took her 2004 Civic for the mileage. I have 56K on my 2006 Fronty, but with the BFG A/T's and lift, there is no way I was going to pay the gas for that. Plus, I want to keep the truck and my fun weekend ride so I will always enjoy going back to it. I always figured that if you were making a crappy commute in a car that you like, then when you take that car you like it reminds you of that crappy commute.
