yea, that's a crazy build... but Chuck's GTR will be even more extreme when it's done... all they are saying is "1000+ awhp"

Hmmm....so all i need is maximum $150,000. But having a 1000hp must be so amazing. Especially cause veyrons are outrageous in price not to mention their crazy maintenance prices. Plus i get to stay true to Nissan and have a huge weight difference advantage.
considering the actual cost for vw to build a veyron they are actually very reasonably priced. they are a very versatile purpose built 1001 (and now 1200) hp project. you still can't really compare a gtr to that no matter how much power it has. don't get me wrong i love nissan and the gtr but its no veyron in any way shape or form

But even the 800HP Switzer GT-R is faster than the Bugatti:)

i can't read that language so i can't say what was going on other than the second race didn't look very gtr favored and that the spoiler on the veyron was fully extended even when he was off the brakes so he was in handling mode but either way is not really the point of it. its a veyron, fastest production car, with the highest hp production motor. its not just the fastest production car top speed but acceleration as well and i bet that the gtr can't go from 250mph to 0 in less than 10 sec or how the gtr feels at speeds well over what it was made for aerodynamically, its stated that driving a veyron at top speed is almost anti climactic because of how stable and effortless driving it at those speeds or how about the skid pad on that gtr i know a stock one will hit .94ish but a veyron will hit 1.34 g. is that gtr street legal, like really street legal. how long can it maintain 200mph or higher before overheating, and in general how long will the motor last on the gtr? its not about one little race or hp number its about the cars in every aspect and even that 1000 hp gtr doesn't compare to a veyron. 1000 hp gtr would be awesome to have but if i was told if i spent 2 years in jail i could have a 1000 hp gtr but if i stayed in jail for 10 years i could have a veyron i'd stick it out for the veyron no questions asked. i'd give my left nut for a veyron for sure, maybe both i already have a kid lol

Cost/Benefit buddy....cost/benefit. I'd take the GTR, pocket the other $850k.

But that me.
and I'm an economist.

actually I'd by neither lets be honest.
But you can buy alot of *** for the $850k.

my view point is possible different from working in the high power boat industry. there are many companies that make $300k-400k boats that are built to be 100 mph boats. the shop i worked at built 150+ mph boats for 1.2 mil and a couple 200+ mph boats for right at 2 mil. sure you could take one of those $300k boats and for about $150k-250k make it a 140-150 mph boat but who knows how well the boat will handle it or how well your going to be able to handle the boat and thats how many people get themselves very hurt or even killed. simply put the research was never put into that boat having the power and reaching those speeds. you pay for the research and the piece of mind to know that this is what this machine was made to do instead of wondering if its going to hold together or stay on the water (or ground) and considering that with the veyron your not even asked to pay for the price of research i'd say if your looking to play around in that area the veyron is well worth the modest price. hell research and all each car has well over 5 mil invested into it. i know cars and boats are different but example is going 160 mph in one of our boats feels like 60 in a car, its alot like how they describe the veyron almost anticlimactic because of how stable and smooth it is as compared to feeling like your at the edge when doing 130 mph in a 300k boat. but thats just me. to me the cost benefit is in favor of the veyron because i could trust my life to that car much much more than a 1000hp gtr. its alot of money but you wont be able to do much with it if you die racing a veyron for bragging rights

No one who bought this car is going poor anytime soon.

Either Nat Geo or History channel has a one hour special devoted to the engineering and construction of the Veyron. It is truly amazing what goes into one of these cars. It is also amazing that they can sell one for such a low amount (obviously still very expensive by automobile standards). The rear wing and it's subframe assembly is built by an aerospace company who made the tooling and testing equipment just for this application. Nearly everything is made by hand. The frame is actually two pieces that are bolted together around the engine.

well aside from the huge price difference the maintenance on the veyron is crazy. You can get poor by actually driving the veyron regularly. Veyron maintenance tops $300,000 annually
I heard a guy say this one time that kinda applies here I think. (The quote may be off a bit but you'll get the point) "Any a hole can go and buy a Lambo, a real rich man has a Diablo as his daily driver." Now I'm not saying that literally just anyone can go and buy a super car but if you really got the dough for one of these monsters then yes maintinance comes into play. If I was rich I'd get me an R34 awd. For me those were the prime Skylines. The new ones dope but I just love the body on an R34. Hell even the R33 was sexy!!

also take a gander at what mclaren F1s goes for and and what you get in one, nothing. those things are all function and no comforts or technology. hell they don't even have sound deadening built in so they throw in some head sets with a built in comm system. no driving assists, hell the things can't even turn around in less space than a cc long bed frontier can. even the gear box is in a league of its own on a veyron, you could almost buy 2 gtr for the price of one tranny for a veyron. but its a tranny built to handle 1000 hp and shift in less than 150 milliseconds. any number of cars can match the veyron on one aspect of comparison but no car can compare on every level and thats what they were going for.

If you're talking cost benefit the 1k gt-r is a better buy IMO. There are maybe 3 places in the world that you could actually stretch the Bugatti's legs. Why pay 1 mil. when you can spend under 200k and have something that's faster to 150mph than the Bugatti. Realistically if you have it as a daily driver you won't go anywhere past 150mph on roads unless you're an idiot. And the only reason I'd buy the Bugatti is if I was filthy rich and wanted it for bragging rights/part of my collection. I'd also be in the mindset that there are procedures to taking the veyron out for a drive. I'd think godzilla would be more worry free.
