We bought an 09 Frontier base unit V6 2wd. We have a small travel trailer and needed a decent TV. We have been very pleased with the performance of the unit. The engine is as powerful as the V8 that I had on a couple of 60's 'vettes!

We purchased the truck off of Craig's list and had a knowledgeable fellow check it out before the down payment. After purchase we spent a small fortune on the major long term scheduled maintenance at the Nissan dealer close to where the truck is parked.

Had the towing package installed at a camper sales and service outlet in town. We can pull our little travel trailer effortlessly with the Frontier. I think that it is the best tow vehicle on the planet for small travel trailers.

Looking to put some type of hard shell topper on it since we will be traveling with two medium sized pooches who would lick your ears off if they were in the back seat area.

Congradulations on your purchase.

There are a few things you should address if you are using it for towing. I would highly recommend that you add a trans temp sensor (there is a diy write up on doing it). I would look into the internal radiator trans cooler bypass (also another diy write-up thing) and to be safe, I would add a pusher fan to the oem external trans cooler just in case the temps start to rise.

This should prevent any radiator/trans failures and will prolong the life of the truck.

I have to ask thou, did this "camper sales and service outlet in town" use the Nissan oem set-up or did they splice? If they spliced, you will have issues. You must use the Nissan set-up with the provided relays. Any system without the relays will cause issues.
