I just resurrected my truck after a nasty collision a few weeks ago. My truck has been put back together with the exception of the airbag. The drivers side bag deployed in the collision and the body shop used staples to close up the steering wheel cap.

I'm looking for any tips or suggestions for the most economical replacement. Thanks in advance for your comments.

Why didnt the body shop order a new one and fix it? The airbag is a Federally mandated item and needs to be fixed! Junk yard might have one

you might get lucky and find one from a junkyard from a vehicle that was in a rear collision (remember it's the same one on 2005+ frontiers, xterras and pathfinders iirc). but chances are, you will probably have to order a new one. i would wager once you change out the pieces (remember to disconnect the battery first), you will need to do the air bag light reset which can be found sticky'd at the top of the audio section

The body shop was going to charge an additional $1,400 for the airbag and I didn't have the cash.
