Anyone know where the reverse switch is on an 01 Frontier XE V-6 5 speed? My reverse lights don't work. The bulbs and fuses are good so I want to check the switch. I guess it's somewhere on the transmission. Any ideas? Thanks

are you sure the blubs are good? alot of times they appear to be ok but just stop working. try new bulbs? and maybe you have an electrical short somewhere?

the switch is on the transmission on the passenger side. it's the forward most switch. the one behind it is the park/neutral position switch.

i too have this problem. im pretty sure the bulbs are good.. iv tried new ones as well and no luck. i did attempt to look for this switch but i went in thru the floor of the cab. had my carpet out and all. i was just mad the whole time cuz i couldnt find the thing and gave up. so if i find this switch, how would i fix the problem? new switch? unclog mud maybe?

the switch is on the transmission. look under the truck...not in it.

My backup lights only work if I pull the shifter to the left. Try that. I'm hopin' there's an adjustment on the switch or shifter to correct this.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but this is exactly what mine does. I'm going to try a new switch here in a few weeks and see if that does the trick. I saw that BrettV91 had the same problem and that it was his detent off of the reverse shift fork wasn't depressing the switch correctly. Once I get a new switch on there I'll come back and post again to let you know if that fixed it.
