I can't seem to find any info on a 2006 Frontier having a transmission pump. Maybe I'm just over looking it. Surely there is one right? My transmission has a whining noise a friend said sounds like the pump. I'm getting a P0717 code for the input turbine speed sensor. My next step is to drop the...

Hi all, Just got my 2012 crew cab sv 4.0 today, overall in great shape (I was very picky about finding a "rust-free" truck, tough to come by in New England), and seemed mechanically sound enough on the test drive. Anyhoo, I was getting on the highway for the first time and as I went briefly...

Hi guys, my truck has about 95,000 miles on it. Yesterday I drove it to Home Depot, no issues, but then I hop in to go home and notice the engine turned over a bit before starting. I knew that was unusual. Then I start driving and the shifts are bucking the truck hard. Automatic transmission...

I'm doing a cross country + towing trip and would like to be able to have real-time eyes on trans temp and a few other things. Let me know what you got. Located in the Bay Area, CA. Willing to pay shipping. Appreciate ya!

Purely out of curiosity. Let's say the day comes my truck finally quits, rather it be a blown engine or a destroyed tranny. Since they retained the Nissan frontier frame would it be possible down the road to drop in a 2021+ tranny and engine? I understand that certain things would have to be...

Is it possible to swap out a tranny on a 16 sv to make it a manual

As a new member and novice mechanic, is there not a lot of similarities (if not exact replacements) between the Frontier and the Titan transmissions? I seem to find more DIY diagnostics on this site as compared to Titan forums for my issues. I have a 2006 Titan with the RE5R05a transmission with...

Changed the transmission fluid on my 2012 Nissan Frontier about 10,000 miles ago mileage: 113,000 (I purchased the vehicle at 100,000 so I am not the original owner) I used Nissan OEM Matic S fluid. Recently first and second gear seems a little off, seems hesitant to shift and all I hear is...

1st post here. Im wondering if anyone knows how to fix my truck that won't accelerate in drive unless its warm or you drive it in 1st or 2nd for a little bit. I saw another post where someone was going to change the transmission fluid and filter but didn't say if it actually fixed the problem...

I have a 2001 Frontier and if I start the truck in park I cannot get it out of park. I can start it in neutral and change gears and everything but even then, if I were to stop and put it in park while it is running I cannot get it back out. Any ideas of what the issue might be? Thanks.

Completely new cooling system, well radiator and thermostat, fan clutch, and now thinking about the biggest water pump i can fit, well I was anyway. Now im thinking it's all because of a little peace of plastic we call sensors. Bit this morning at startup I notice the check engine light back on...

[UPDATE] - I was able to pull the engine code and it was P1774 which means "that there is either an electrical or mechanical problem with the operation of the low coast brake solenoid valve." https://www.transmissionrepaircostguide.com/p1774/ On my way to work this morning my '12 Frontier...

I plan on doing my first transmission fluid change (drain and fill over the course of multiple oil changes instead of a full flush). I got my truck used and I assume a transmission fluid change (or any other premium maintenance recommendation) has not been conducted. I bought Amsoil synthetic...

So, with the 2020 Frontier and the new 9 speed transmission it has, does anyone have any idea if you can put that transmission in an older truck. Seems to me, that 9 speed transmission would offer better fuel mileage and not so many gear changes while driving in varying conditions. Thoughts...

I have a 2013 Frontier SV V6 2WD. I noticed a leak where the transmission meets the driveshaft. I think it’s an Extention Housing Oil Seal leak? Has anyone replaced it yourself? Looking for advice.

I have a 2017 sv 2wd... It has a leak... Dealer did a multi pt inspection and tells me it's supposedly a leak in the seal of the transfer case rear output shaft... But since it's not 4x4 I'm assuming it's the differential for the transmission and not a transfer case? They want about $200 to...

This weekend I was finally able to cross some things off the maintenance list. I replaced the gear oil in the transfer case & rear diff, cleaned and oiled my K&N air filter, and gave the throttle body a much needed cleaning. Next will be the transmission fluid and then move on to rebuilding the...

Hey guys hope it’s okay to post this here. I have a 2007 Nissan Frontier LE V6 4x4. I want to do a drain and fill of my ATF. I had the fluid changed once at about 40,000 miles do to a recall on it. Than after around 90,000 my u joint needed to be replaced. I had broke my hand so I had to have...

Hi All, I'm about to hit 30K miles and am going to do an ATF drain and fill this weekend. I've seen that Valvoline Max Life Synthetic meets the Matic-S standards. My question is, if I'm just doing a drain and fill can I add the valvoline ATF to the existing Nissan fluid? Or is it that much...

So I have been experiencing some weird what I assume is are problems with my 2011 Frontier Pro 4X when I drive in the snow. When I'm driving in the snow between 40 MPH and 60 MPH by transmission will clunk and or feel like I'm losing power for a second between shifts and cause the truck to jerk...
