Greetings! I was wondering if anyone has any experience with buying a canopy for the third generation.

I've been digging around and am having a very hard time finding any info about what's available that this point.

Thank you!

I keyed in a '22 Frontier, crew cab with short bed to the Leer website, they indicate about $2200 and up, options dependent. I only had ARE and Leer as options for my neck of the woods (Long Island, NY), none of the off brands had local dealers. The options add up, interior carpeting, lighting, front window fold down, single lock release, sliding side windows, etc..... in my experience it was pretty much about $200 for each add-on. My cap cost $2800 in early 2020.

Anyone happen to have any pictures of a third generation with a fiberglass topper?

I did see @Gambini 's thread. Really curious how a pro4x would look with a mid rise like the Leer 180.
Purchased my ‘22 SV 4X4 with the color matched ARE CX evolve and I added roof rails to it. I’m saving up to put a roof rack on the canopy and the cab as well. Can’t decide on the prinsu or the Uptop bravo rack.

That looks fantastic!

I am really hoping to find a king cab pro4x like yours, but I live in the states to it'll be harder. I think I'm leaning towards the Leer 180.
You'll have to import a Gen 3 KC P4X. Betting that's a PITA.

Well I finally decided on a Leer 180 and ordered it last week. Got a call today that leer doesn't have that model available for the Frontier yet. I'm not really sure what my next move is, but I need to get some kind of topper figured out.

I don't like the profile of the ARE MX. I much prefer the way the leer goes up immediately after the cab, rather than the double radius of the MX.

I might look in to the snugtop hi-liner.

I'm going to have a hard time dropping that much money on one unless it's exactly what I want.

Ended up going with the Snugtop Hi-Liner Sport. I'm a little bummed it didn't come with any interior lighting, but otherwise the quality seems good. I ended up paying $3600, which still feels insane. I like the li es on it more than I expected to.

Next battle is going to be trying to seal up the tailgate so dust doesn't get in. I'm really annoyed with the gaps at the upper sides of the tailgate.

How did you do with this? I bought a sealing kit off of amazon but the gaps are so huge at the last 5 inches or so at the top of the tailgate I couldn't seal it very well. I haven't bothered yet to buy more gasket material and have just been leaf blower-ing out the dust between trips if I need it "cleaned up".

I wanted a pro4x with a long bed but it was just out of my price range. I was able to talk down the dealership on the price with this one because the paint job was slightly damaged by mineral deposits covering the whole thing. It’s almost impossible to see it unless the sun hits it at the right angle. I’m still trying to find a cheap way to remove all the little water specks without damaging the paint or the windows. (If it’s even possible) but it drives great. I’ve been taking it all over Gifford Pinchot forest, Rainer forest and the Olympics trying to push the 4x4 to its limits. I popped the passenger side front tire going over a washed out bit of the trail. My fault for not checking the rocks closer, they were very jagged rocks lol

A longbed Pro4X must be a KC imported from Canada, right??

Update- the gasket works really well. I'm getting some dust in the bed, but not enough to worry about at all. I've been keeping my cot setup back there with bedding and I haven't noticed dust at all on it.

Also, the snugtop latch system is hot garbage. It's constantly binding up, not latching correctly, etc. I need to tweak the alignment I think, but I'm now a firm believer that a handle on each side like the Leer 180 is the way to go.

A properly designed and installed single latch system is fine. I've had two ARE caps, and the single latches have worked just fine.
