How much payload capacity can the bed safely haul? Wanting to get some topsoil in the spring. Was reading that on average a cubic yard of topsoil weighs approximately 2200 pounds. Yow...that's a lot of weight. Thanks.
2, 1/2 yard trips? Im not sure how well a yard fits in the bed anyways. I have done loads like that before if you have the time and they will selll in that small of qty. granted a delivery charge for me would be $200+
One yard will fit. It will be heavy. I did it once, and likely won't do it again. At least not with the passenger rated tires. Light truck tires would make a big difference.
I did 11 runs with a half cubic yard of dirt and one with a full cubic yard (guy running the dozer overloaded me by accident) with my LT tires at the full 80psi, my suspension was near bump stops in the back but surprisingly not all the way, i was careful and took it easy but did fine. I was only going about 2 miles but i wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
