Hey Buckeye, a tailgate applique, (pronounced applikay, one of my millwright buddies had to stop me from saying appleek) is the chrome-plastic trim that attaches, via tape, to and around the tail gate handle. It's a two piece thing and makes the *** end look better than any other street truck, IMO. My window visors are also Nissan parts. They are taped on also. They come with metal clips that you have to install under the weather seal, and line up with the the visor to secure with plastic rivets. I like them because I can leave my windows open 1" in the summer and the cab stays cool, yet you can't see that the windows are open from outside. Also, when I hit my wipers, the splash doesn't run into the cab.
Hey Buckeye1872, greetings from a fellow buckeye from the Cleveland area! Like your "buy American" sentiment. I work in a UAW shop (Non-automaker) and people just don't get it. Nissan is one of my customers! I love my truck.
