Garmin's have the best response and are IMO the only way to go. In my family we have 4 garmins, and I personally just got the Streetpilot C550 with bluetooth, it is great.

I am considering getting the blackbird II for the Alpine 205. I am just not sure how often I would actually use it. Kind of pricey for a "toy" that I might not use enough.

I have the Garmin 200W and absolutely love it. I can also take the suction cup mount out of the truck and suction it to my bike tank for long trips. Hasn't fallen off yet!

I have one too, but it really doesn't do real Navi features like and actual car system. Garmin 7200 Street Pilot is a 7" removeable touchscreen system that you can take to other vehicles.

I am also in the market to buy a GPS when I get back stateside. I'm looking at either the Magellan "Crossover" or the Garmin "Quest." Both give turn by turn directions and have city maps loaded, but both also have topo and mapping functions and rugged, water resistant cases so I can take them off-road and hiking. I think I like the Magellan one a little better because it has the lower 48 states preloaded w/ topo and city maps and it has a bigger screen.

Does anyone know what the "Portable Navigation" option is on the 2008 Frontier website? It costs $795, and for that kind of money I could easily buy a decent "portable" Garmin unit.

what do you mean "but it really doesn't do real Navi features like and actual car system"? from what i know the 60CSx does everything that a in car nav system does including redirect if you go off the planed rout.
