Navigation Systems

Can anyone give advice on a nav system. I want to purchase a removable one that mounts to the winshield or nearby. I see many types. Please give likes and dislikes. Thanks

I have used a Magellan (sp?) and liked it. I don't know the model number, but it was a touch screen and easy to use. I think it is about $250.

All of the Magellans are good, so are Garmins.

Edit: BTW, you don't need to spend $600 for a decent GPS. Just get one that has the functions you need.

I have a Garmin 60csx, and I absolutely love it. It is a handheld model, but the screen is plenty big to see while driving. I like it because I can take it with me when I am hiking, camping, etc. and it has the features of the more expensive dash models.

I have a tomtom ONE XL that I just got. I've only used it a few times, but it is great so far. I found a bunch of impersonated celebrity voices online for it that makes it a little more fun while driving. The only downside is battery life is pretty short, but I keep it plugged in when I have it in the truck.

I got a Grmin 650 with a 4.3 screen two weeks ago and I like it. Came in handy with a trip to vegas. Walmart has them for $498 an I had best buy price match them.

I had Magellan 760 before which was good. But then I purchased the Garmin Nuvi 360 and love it as well.

If you don't want to spend that much money in GPS you could get the TomTom. I've heard that those aren't bad. I'm not saying mine are expensive though. The Magellan I had was big. The Nuvi I have now is just about $400.

x2 on the Garmin Nuvi

I meant x3. I own the Garmin Nuvi (previous almost square model 360 not the latest that is more rectangular) and I decided to purchase it after trying out some Tom Tom's and a Magellan. The preinstalled maps are really good as well as the points of interest. The two times that it did take me to an address I was looking for and it turned out to be the wrong place, the place I was looking for was a block or less away and within my field of vision. Between my wife and I, it has been used in several states (mostly southeast) and it is extremely accurate. I also like how when you are typing in a city or street name it will suggest the proper words before you finish typing so it saves some keystrokes.
