I've had the Magellan RoadMate 1400 for about a month. No problems yet. Audible turn instructions at 2mi., 1mi., .5 mi., then a bell tone at the turn itself. Tons of points of interests. 4.3" color touch screen. SD slot. Quick spell. Got it on sale at Sears for under $200. I like the suction cup windshield mount rather than console mount. Seems safer since that's closer to the field of view while driving.

I had a Tom Tom which was fine until it was stolen. I have a Garmin 650 now and it is outstanding. I am warry of Magellin. They make the Neverlost system for Hertz rental that I use all the time I cant stand those. I may just be the interface and old maps but those are the pits to use.

Someone else mounted in the same place I did! The only difference is that I routed my wiring under the center console for both an external antennal and the FM plug (which I plugged into the outlet under the arm rest. Mine faces center and is flush with the dash. I love being able to change the settings and call using bluetooth with my hand resting on my shifter.

I may be mistaken, but I believe the Nissan unit is the docking station where the dash tray normally is and a Garmin Nuvi 750. I bought the docking station for $100 and a Garmin 750 at Sam's for $300. You can add the Nissan logo for free.
