Do they make an aftermarket dash tray flip-up?

I don't know if thats what it's called but the useless flat tray above the head unit that has a rubber liner.

Do they make a aftermarket part that comes with a door and allows it to open and close? I got the idea from seeing a commercial for some new Suzuki car that you press down on the door and it flips up revealing a Nav system. I really get tired of constantly pulling my PNA out of the window and the sucktion cup mounts. Having it concealed and hard wired would be sweat. That dash try is the most useless thing I've ever seen. 3 years and I've never used it for anything.

Thats sweat. Exactly what I was talking about. But from my short bit of reading it appears that it only works with Garmin 750,760 & 780? Is this true? DO they make versions for Tom Tom, Magellan or Mio?

That sucks. Don't want to drop $350 on a new PND when my current unit works fine. If I'm gonna drop $450+ I may as well just put it toward an Avic.

Hard to tell in the pics but wonder if anyone has been able to modify the connnector to hold a non-garmin unit.

I belive Steve47 tried this and it didn't work. I all depends on how the connectors for the NAV work. If they are under, side, rear, etc...
