NO. Do not come South. You voted these liberal politicians into office and you need to live with them. We don't need that down here!

Not surprising in MA.
That's not really got much to do with it.

Massachusetts is one of the most densely populated states and is also one of the oldest with settlements going back a few hundred years. Thus most of the property is already going to be in private hands.

Consequently, MA does not have any really large state parks. Nor does it really have any large tracts of public federal parks or forest service lands. The largest federal park holdings are fairly small national wildlife refuges in the eastern part of the state. I think the defense department may actually be the largest federal land holder in MA.

In general, the east cost just doesn't have the huge tracts of open public lands like you folks out west thus our opportunities for OHV use is naturally going to be more restricted.

MA does provide some trails for ATV's and dirt bikes in some of their parks but for Jeeps and the like you're pretty much left to private property. Off hand I have no idea whether there are any private 4 wheel drive parks in MA.

Funny thing is, once I had a second to look through the info I got, there is a graffic in the pamphlet of a jeep driving on a hill. I looked up the same pamphlet on the web. The picture was taken out.

I guess I'm just jealous of other guys and girls on this forum. Places like glamis and roush creek sound awesome.

I wouldn't mind taking my truck to visit my mother in North Carolina. It doesn't seem like there are many restrictions in the mid-atlantic. I don't get a lot of chances to go down to see her, and when I do we usually take the focus down. For the gas mileage and because for some reason my 12 year old doesn't want to ride for eleven hours in the jump seat. Go figure.

Consider moving permanently.

The fact that you visited an "environmental police" office should have been your first clue that off-road restrictions are just the tip of the Massachusetts iceberg of liberal lunacy.

Rausch Creek is about 5 hours from you. It would make for a decent weekend trip if you get some guys together. NY does not have any public off roading that I am familiar with. I can also only locate one decent off road park. With that said I drive the 4 hours to Rausch Creek. You can off road in the north east, you just need to be willing to travel.

You can also check out the North East Xterra Club. I know they have an event they do on private land in New York. Joining a club is the best way to find anything offroad here on the east.

Sounds like a whole bunch of manufactured BS. My brother lives in Concord and he offroads his Jeep. I don't know where, but he's never run into problems. I'll ask him next time I see him. The "liberal" slander against Massachusetts is simply unfounded and not based in reality.

"you can't drive your truck offroad in Massachusetts "

"permits needed for ohvs in Massachusetts"

"environmental police office"

"department of camping"

"you need a sticker on your window"

Geesh. Glad I moved to the South years ago.
Between the over bloated MA govt and what the NY legislature
are doing to the legal gun owners I am glad I GTFO when I did.

( the liberal voters in these states are getting what they want)
