WOOT, first snow and test of my Fronty!

Well, first storm of the season, calling for 12" of the white stuff. I was really anticipating the drive home from work to finally test the Frontier in the snow. And was I impressed! Not one instance of any sliding/slipping and the ABS only went off twice momentarily. Hills, highway, unplowed roads were no match for the 4WD and the Toyo Open Country A/Ts!

Once I got to my neighborhood, I switched to 2WD for $hits & giggles, and oh man...scarry!

job Nissan!

Today was the first time in the white stuff for my frontier as well. HUGE improvement over my 01 Taco. This thing has awsome traction!

My altima SE did awsome with the new triple tread tires that we just got put on. Just as long as you take your time....and be drive careful...you should be all set. We are getting another 2-4...or 3-5" accprding to 2 news stations. Suppose to get a possible messy Noreaster Sunday. Those are fun to drive in.

Played around with it on a few hills and snow piles I knew it what to expect in the 4x4 mode. But i was more interested with playing in the 2x4 mode which is also very good. A lot tighter then I would have guessed.

drove halfway home in 2wd. honestly, a couple inches is generally worse then 6+ because there's nothing to bite into.

I did drop into 4wd to do some passing though. I just cant do 25mph.

I think the Frontier does just fine in the snow, and I bet those nice tires you have help a lot too.
I still have the BFG Long Trails, which are by no means an aggresive tread. We haven't got much snow here lately, but it's been no warmer than minus 10 for over a month now. Right now our roads are slicker than snot on a chicken's lip. Im in 4wd all the time right now, in 2wd I just don't have any traction, and I have better things to do than sit there spinning my tires at an intersection. Or you are just driving along and all of a sudden you hit a patch of ice and before you can think, your going sideways...not fun.

We have a saying up here...snow means slow
With snow/ice covered roads 6 months+ of the year, you can't drive around like an idiot or you will pay the price.

heh I've got less than 1/4" of tread left on my tires. I've had them for 16 months and put 25k on them. they're nowhere near as good in snow as they were last winter.

I love the avitar !! :P and I would love to see 12" of snow here in Maryland, we are due for a good snow storm. I have BFG All-terrains and I like the looks of them and how quiet they are, but for the snow, they are not the best. You should post some pics of your truck in the snow.
