Windshield Sprayer Problem

Does anyone else out there have a problem with their windshield sprayers? Mine spray as much STRAIGHT up as they do on my windshield. Both sprayers do it, too. It's like the seam where the plastic is molded together is split or something. It sprays a stream straight up like a spray bottle on "stream" setting. It's done this since I got my 2007 SE Crew Fronty new 10 months ago. I haven't taken it in because it's not something that I think warrants a trip to the dealership just for that. I plan on waiting and seeing if something else pops up, that way I can get multiple things fixed at once. My warranty doesn't expire for 4 more years (I got the extended warranty).

Everytime I need to spray my windshield my wife laughs and says "Hehehehe...Nice retard sprayers!" And then I just hang my head in shame.

Does anyone else have retard sprayers?

It's probably clogged or cracked nozzles. Someone might have added a little too much water and they froze, cracking the sprayers inside. I'd bring it in and let them worry about it. It's not a 1-2-3 job, since you have to remove the whole cowl cover and wiper blades.

Never heard of this problem.
On another note, but same track here, I appreciate how our sprayers are on the plastic cover under the windshield and not on the painted hood. Then you don't have to wax around them and worry about clogging the nozzles with wax, etc. Last truck had them on the painted hood, pita it was.

I bought the truck in August of last year NEW. I don't think it had been through any cold weather (especially since I live in Mississippi). It only had 22 miles on it when I got it so I doubt they had held on to it since the previous winter.

Again, both sides do it.

Take a very small needle and insert it into the sprayer hole. You can aim where it goes this way. IF there is a clog this could remove it as well.

Or, you can get a clay bar, and mold it into a donut around the sprayer. When you have it like that, you just made a "cup, and you can pour simple green in there and it will saturate in there and possibly dissolve the clog.

There's no clog. It sprays fine on the windshield. It just also spray sprays straight up. NOT from the sprayer nozzle though. It sprays from the sprayer housing seam. The horizontal top of the housing is where it comes from. I thought about just smearing some black caulk into the seams and seeing if that works. But it's on both sprayers like that. I really need to post a pic of what I'm talking about. Here's a crude representation.

Before you goober caulk in there, try putting a piece of duct tape over it first. If that corrects the problem you can go from there to solve it on a more permanent basis.

Oh weird! Junkyard my friend! I have never seen them do that. I think it would be easier to replace than to repair

Ok here is a picture I took of the problem. I know it's not the best; I took it with my cell phone...at a red light. Note that as much spray is going on my hood as on my windshield. BOTH sprayers do this.

I finally got the sprayers fixed...about a month ago. Service manager acted like it was nothing new...no big deal. Go figure. Kudos to Gray-Daniels Nissan Brandon, MS. They have been great from the first time I set foot on their lot to buy my 07 Fronty and my wife's 07 Murano.
Great service and great sales dept. They had to order the parts so it took a few days to get it fixed...I didn't need the truck right away so I let them keep it til it was fixed. Also had the passenger seat TSB done.
