Seriously, comparing an old beat up 2000 Z71 to a new Frontier is ridiculous...if you can't get the Frontier to get better gas mileage than that Chevy...I really don't think you're comparing apples to apples...

+1 All the domestics don't come close to the value of my Front. IMHO

I bought mine, because I didn't like how my GMC Canyon feels. Also, I always had Nissan all my life and wanted to come back to Nissan family. Last thing is I truly love and admire my Frontier...

My Z71 is a 2001 model that's nearly as solid as a new one.. nothing beat up going on with mine. The fact that fuel economy is a determining factor in my future purchase is pretty relevant therefore this comparison is valid..

Guess I don't understand your comment?

Well i have always been a issan guy since my mom got a maxima in 96 and it has 343k miles on it to this day and it still runs good with the original altenator and clutch. I have a N/a 300zx that the motor lasted in for about 197k before it spun a bearing. Rebuilt it, and drive it to work everyday when i dont drive my fronty. The main reason is i work at Toyota and the Tacomas cost too much, Plus i wouldint have gotten a good deal from them anyway. I would'nt drive nothing but a nissan anyway they just have always been reliable cars.

I bought mine because it was a deal, Crew cab,4x4,5sp

I really like toyota trucks in any flavor but a simliar yota would be $15k used. A little background i wanted a new striped out Dodge Dakota crank windows,5sp,2wd,v6, extra cab,6sp,air lol. I like that truck alot for the selling price $10.900 at kingofcars.com in 07. I even considered a ISUZU i290 which is a chev colorado 4cyl 190hp, nice but never had a drop in price. So i begain seeing my other options a nissan crew 4x4 used and bought that 2000, its sporty and a looker. I like honda, toyota and some nissans but hate american cars except jeep. Frontier has had small issues that ive repaired like air, manual hubs, tires, rims but is solid. I may end up selling though and getting a new cheap truck, guess i like zero miles. dude that had a full size chev thank your stars its gone! Bigger isnt better its that american mentality, frontier is a plain smarter truck!

Actually, I would disagree. Prior to the accident (which caused the Z71 to be totalled) there was nothing really wrong with the car. Btw, the car had over 180,000 miles and I would trust it to drive long distances with my wife and two young children. Actually, I have chosen it over my brand new Toyota Sienna Awd and Land Rover Discovery. The only problem with the Z71 is a defect with the abs system which cause it to constantly work. A quick pull of the abs fuse solved that. I did not want to fix it because I hate abs! The truck was comfortable and reliable. One of my main concern of the Z71 was its size (both length and width). I had a hard time finding parking for it. On the other hand, it was more comfortable than the Frontier because of it too. The Frontier is a really nice "new" truck for the money! It's not that I could not afford a better truck, I just have different priorities (kids). Also, I sometimes like to play a little with my truck. I just can't justify damaging a brand new truck. With my Z71 (because it was older and paid for), I would not care too much where I parked or going offroading with it. In the end, the Frontier is mostly used as my commuter, towing my boat and going to my cabin up in Big Bear with my family. When I really want to mess around, I purchased a 1992 Toyota Ext Cab Truck (V6) to bash up. Denting a 15 year old truck does not hurt as much as a brand new truck.
