Why Did You Buy A Frontier?

I'll start off with I bought it because it had most of the things I wanted with the least amount of $$$$

Basically, I wanted a truck with the following:

4x4
Automatic Transmission (so wife can drive it)
Full Power
Sunroof
4 Doors (Crew Cab or Ext Cab In A Full Size Truck)
6 Feet Bed
Good Power (V6 or V8 Over 200 h.p.)
Good Towing Abilities
Good Reliability
MPG
Price (Under $26,000 Plus Tax and License)

After looking at several trucks, I was not able to find anything that came close to $26,000 with most of the above options. The only thing I really couldn't get at the time was the long bed. A Toyota Tacoma would have cost at least $4000 more. The Tundra was actually a little less than the Tacoma because of rebates. Ford and Chevy trucks were a few thousands more. I actually ended up having to choose between a Z71 (I had one that got totalled) or a Tundra. At the time, it was hard to find a 4x4 and if you found one, the dealer would not really deal on those. Before I found this forum, I was regreting getting the Frontier. I actually thought about selling it and getting a Z71 or a Tundra. Afterwards, I really enjoy reading the post and changed my mind about the Frontier. In the end, I am just going to change the negatives like low height and weak suspension for towing. Btw, my old 2000 Z71 had as good if not better gas mileage.

I bought mine because I needed a new vehicle, and this was a bank repo... so the price was right.

At the time, it was a stock 2wd, and I wanted a truck.

First of all I have had Nissan for 22 years of many, many problem free miles, started with a 1979 280ZX, 170,000 miles, then a 1985 300ZX, 200,000 miles, a 1993 300ZX Convertible, that was just for nice days, and then had a 1993 4X4 pickup, 142,000 miles.

I knew my next vehicle had to be a Nissan, and I liked my truck so much. I thought what is the current version of my 4X4? A Frontier! I couldn't imagine getting anything else. When I did think about something else, I just coming back to a Frontier.

Primarily because Dakotas, Colorados/Canyons, Sport Tracs ALL suck, and Toyota thinks the Tacoma has gold-plated body panels.

Toyota wanted waaayyy too much for a taco. And the frontier drove smoother and looked better. End story.

I bought mine as I wanted a smaller 4X4. I was always a Chevy guy and traded in a Z-71 that I had for ten years. I hunt and do a lot of Civil War battlefield exploring so a smaller truck with a crew cab was really what Iwanted. The Chevy Colorado Canyon/GMC Canyon was not even considered by me. I looked at both the Toyota Tacoma and the Frontier. The Frontier won hands down. I did not want a sun roof or cargo rack on the roof so i got the 2007 SE. It has Utilitrack, power group, value group and step bars. I have added skid plates, more to protect it from cornfield stubble and sticks on the forest floor than anything else. So far (4.5 months) I really like the truck and am glad I bought it. In ten years, I'll let you know how well it held up. Next spring, I'll be taking it to the middle of Quebec province for bear hunting.

no body other than toyota had 4x4s in manual. i didn't like how the driver sits in the toyota, and their non negotiable price didn't help sell either.

Well, 2 weeks ago, my wife was gonna trade her 05 Xterra for an 07 Maxima because she is fixing to commute more again. We had first talked about trading my 03 Dodge 1500 and me keep the Xterra. The Dodge got 16.4 mpg on a good day on the interstate at 75 mph.

Well, got to looking at her car and I was gonna buy a new truck on 08 anyway (had it narrowed to Nissan or Toyota). My friend is the sales mgr at the dealership and they had a nice 06 Fronty with 20k miles on it at a good price. I asked a question about it and he told me that I didn't want that one and I need the 08 instead. Well, the price was INCREDIBLE so we both traded in our cars and Jules got an 07 Maxima and I got an 08 Frontier.

I'm bad in Nissan's again and absolutely love it.
